Jonathan is a crazy oceanographer

June Marion: Mechanical Engineer

August 27, 2018

June is crazy too. She is the brains behind the raft needed for the remote mooring deployments: a raft with trap doors that ROSE can pull and trigger.

Jasmine Nahorniak: Data Scientist

August 27, 2018

Jasmine is a mastermind of getting the computer to talk to the instruments. On this expedition, she is key to communicating with ROSE so she can drive around autonomously.  She has been known to flip flop between serious and crazy, when you least expect it.

Jason Amundson: Glaciologist

August 27, 2018

Jason led the original NSF proposal - a glaciologist who went out of his way to talk to oceanographers. He is a professor at University of Alaska Southeast - dream job, glaciologists surrounded by glaciers.

Anna Simpson: Oceanography Student

August 27, 2018

Anna is graduate student, excited to dive into ocean mixing in funky places (not just fjords). She is crazy enough to join Jonathan's group with the goal of emerging with a PhD.
