Questions and Answers!
How do I get there?
If you are just coming for the saturday afternoon event, the beautiful historic wooden M/V Blue Peter will pick people up at noon on Saturday, July 31 from Shilshole Marina and return to the dock in Shilshole around 8pm. There will be light snacks and drinks on board for the hour-ish long ride to Blake Island.
If you are coming to camp or want to spend longer, there is also a ferry that runs on the hour from mid-morning until 6 or 7 pm depending on the day, leaving from downtown Seattle. https://www.argosycruises.com/argosy-cruises/blake-island-transportation/
If you want to do the Blue Peter one way, but not both ways (for example if you want to stay the night), then the ferry can be combined with an uber or lift back to Shilshole.
We will also have a few boats available that may also be able to transport you to or from Shilshole or other locations, please let us know and we will do our best to make it work for you - we want you there!
Kayak there! If you want to kayak but don’t want to pack all your gear on the kayak, I’m sure we can help get a few bags of gear over there for you.
Where do I stay if I want to stay Friday and/or Saturday night?
Please let us know!!!
There are only a few reservable campsites. We have reserved as many as we could, but the rest are first-come first-serve. We will be pitching tents to save a few a more when we arrive on Thursday… anyone else is welcome to come early to help save spots and relax and enjoy the island with us.
What do I wear?
Casual! Really… whatever you feel like (but clothes are required).
What is there to do on the island?
The trails are great for hiking/running.
We will have several paddleboards, kayaks, and a sailboat. There are also kayaks and paddleboards to rent. Bring whatever you like.
We will have art supplies, encourage beach sculptures, anything you can imagine.
Can I bring musical instruments?
Yes! We hope to have a fun evening.
Do you need any help?
Well, yes, we’d love it if friends were willing to chip in and help.
